Popis
Nannorrhops ritchiana roste v jihovýchodní Asii - od Arábie přes Írán a Afganistan až do Pákistánu a severozápadní Indie. Vyskytuje se v nadmořské výšce 1 600 m. Je to velmi odolná palma, jejíž nevýhodou je, že velmi pomalu roste a nesnáší vlhké a mrazivé středoevropské klima. Dorůstá do výšky 5 - 7 metrů. Listy jsou tuhé, s kožovitým leskem namodralého nádechu. Je velmi odolná vůči prudkým změnám teplot. Nenáročná na živiny a zálivku. Sadíme do písčité, řádně odvodněné půdy. Pro dobré přezimování ve volné kultivaci v ČR je nutno zajistit rostlině co nejsušší půdu. Je nutno mít skleník s přitápěním i termostatem, jinak rostlina uhyne.
"Nannorrhops ritchiana - "Kašmír" je pojmenování pro rostliny původem ze severozápadního Nepálu, kde rostou ve výškách až 1 500 m nadmořské výšky. Vzhledem k tomu, že rostou v oblasti častých srážek, v zimě jsou mnohem odolnější vůči vlhku než rostliny ze sušších oblastí.
Nannorrhops ritchiana - "Silver Iran" je varieta pocházející z okolí íránského Zahedanu. Má výrazně stříbřitě šedé listy a je velmi odolná vůči mrazu, vyžaduje však suché podmínky.
Velmi doporučujeme výsev tohoto exempláře do volné půdy v ČR, ale s vhodným přístřeškem.
POZOR!!! Minimální teplota krátkodobě po dobu pár hodin -10°C až -15°C, bez poškození -5°C až -7°C, pokud je pod přístřeškem a v naprostém suchu.

Description
Nannorrhops ritchiana grows in Southeast Asia - from Arabia through Iran and Afghanistan to Pakistan and northwest India. It can be found at an altitude of 1 600 m ( 5 249 ft ).
It is a very cold hardy palm with the disadvantage of being a very slow grower and having an intolerance towards higher moisture levels in the frosty central European climate. For good overwintering in open cultivation in the Czech Republic and other places with higher precipitation and moisture levels it is suggested that this palm has some sort of protection, atleast overhead to protect it from long periods of rain, snow, frost and cold winds, perhaps a roof of some sort or even better a polycarbonate glasshouse with windows so that the palm can have proper air ventilation. If kept totally dry throughout the winter it could withstand the above mentioned temperatures. This palm is very resistant to rapid changes in temperature. It is not demanding on nutrients and watering. It should be planted in a well-drained sandy soil preferably on a mount, so that excess water can float away from the base of the trunk preventing any possible rot to both the trunk and to its roots. If temperatures should go lower then its maximum lowest cold hardy degree then the glasshouse should have an electric fan heater with a thermostat to help regulate the inside temperature, otherwise the plant will die. The leaves are stiff, with a leathery sheen of bluish tinge and one should be very careful when handling the plant otherwise you may end up in emergency with a very serious injury.
Nannorrhops ritchiana - "Kashmir" is the name given to plants native to north-western Nepal, where they grow at altitudes of up to 1 500 m ( 4 921 ft ) above sea level. Because they grow in an area of frequent rainfall, they are much more resistant to moisture in winter than plants from drier areas.
Nannorrhops ritchiana - "Silver Iran" is a variety native to the Zahedan region of Iran. It has distinctive silvery grey foliage and is very hardy to frost, but also requires drier conditions.
We highly recommend sowing this specimen in open soil in the Czech Republic, but with suitable shelter.
CAUTION!!! Minimum temperature for a short period of a few hours -10°C to -15°C ( 14 – 5 F ), without damage -5°C / -7°C – ( 23 – 19.4 F ) if kept under shelter ancompletely dry.
