A femme tondue is a woman who, during WW2 or at the Libération, were humiliated (among it, being shaved by force) by their co-citizens who were outraged by their behaviour (or their supposed behaviour) with the occupation forces
According to Fabrice Virgili, 23000 women were shaved between 1943 and 1946; half of them being accused of having sexual relationships with the Germans.
