This 2003 Volkswagen Passat W8 4Motion wagon was sold new in California and moved to Indiana with its original owners in 2016, where it was purchased by the seller 2 years later. Power is from a 4.0-liter W8 driving all four wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission, and the car is finished in metallic red over tan leather. Features include heated seats, a glass sunroof, a factory Monsoon stereo, and a flat-folding rear bench seat as well as modifications such as Wald Duchatelet wheels, KW coilovers, and a hatch spoiler. Fluid and filter changes have been carried out under current ownership along with replacement of the ignition coils and spark plugs. This B5 Passat shows 47k miles and is offered with manuals, stock wheels, service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Wisconsin title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in Colorado Red Metallic (LB3Y) and features four exhaust outlets as well as an aftermarket rear hatch spoiler. The rear bumper cover has also been repainted to correct scuffs, and the car is said to have been detailed and ceramic-coated under current ownership. The exterior light bulbs have been replaced under the seller’s ownership. A walk-around video has been provided by the seller.

Multi-piece 19″ Wald Duchatelet wheels have been redrilled to fit the factory VW bolt pattern, refinished and rebuilt with new barrels, and fitted with stretched Nitto tires showing 2018 date codes. Factory wheels are included in the sale and shown in the gallery below. The car has been lowered on KW V1 coilovers, and the tie rods and CV boots were replaced in June 2019. In June of this year the seller replaced the inner tie rods had an alignment conducted.

The tan leather interior features a glass sunroof, heated front seats, wood accents on the center console and doors, and a Monsoon cassette/CD player. The door jambs, seats, switchgear, and touch surfaces are shown up close in the gallery.

Instrumentation consists of a central LCD, a 180-mph speedometer, and a tachometer as well as fuel and temperature gauges. The digital odometer shows approximately 47k miles, of which the seller has driven 2,500 since January 2019.

The rear cargo area is equipped with dual 12-volt power outlets and a retractable cover. A CD changer, first aid kit, and roadside tools are housed behind the side panels.

The 4.0-liter W8 features two timing chains driving four camshafts. With a 10.8:1 compression ratio from the factory, peak output was rated at 271 horsepower at 6k rpm and 273 lb-ft of torque at 2,750 rpm. Service under the seller’s ownership included replacement of the spark plugs and ignition coils in addition to an oil change.

The five-speed automatic transaxle is paired with a 4Motion all-wheel drive system featuring a Torsen center differential. The transmission filter and pan gasket were replaced in August 2019, and the seller will have the oil and filter changed for the winning bidder.

Service records from the seller and original owners are included in the sale.

The April 2020 Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists registration in California, Indiana, and Wisconsin. The seller notes that the car was titled to the wife of its original owner upon his passing in 2016. A start-up video is provided below.
