J-pop veteran Utada Hikaru has debuted the music video for their latest single ‘A Flower of No Color’ (‘Naniirodemonai Hana’).

Directed by visual artist Tomokazu Yamada, known for his work on Utada Hikaru’s 2023 music video for ‘Gold -Mata Au Hi Made-‘, the video captures Utada standing atop a frozen river, providing a touching backdrop to the song’s exploration of love and existential ponderings.

Serving as the theme song for the ongoing Fuji TV drama series ‘Kimi ga Kokoro wo Kureta kara’ (‘The Gift of Your Heart’), Utada Hikaru crafted ‘A Flower of No Color’ to encapsulate a straightforward expression of love. The song is set to feature on their highly anticipated first-ever greatest hits album, ‘SCIENCE FICTION’, due for release on April 10th.

With 26 tracks in total, ‘SCIENCE FICTION’ promises a comprehensive journey through their illustrious career. The album is a joint project between Sony Music Labels, Inc. and Universal Music, marking a significant collaboration that goes beyond record company boundaries.

Simultaneously, Utada Hikaru has unveiled the dates for their ‘SCIENCE FICTION TOUR 2024’, their first nationwide tour in 6 years. The tour features double features at various iconic venues in Japan, including Marine Messe Fukuoka, Saitama Super Arena, and Yoyogi 1st Gymnasium.
