A pretty little alpine/rock garden plant for which some say average border conditions are lethal.

I've had them growing for numbers of years in two perennial borders, locating them close to the edge of a brick path (good drainage).

This Lewisia has really long medium-green leaves.

Long petals with darker, long veins. The flowers can range from pastel orange-vermillion to pastel lavender-pink depending on age.

This variety did very well in a long (around 9-10 inch wide) container. This was planted in a sandy, gritty soil (Around the ration of sand:perlite:soil as 1:1:2). I'd imagine it would do well in a border or full-sun area with good drainage.
