One of the Japanese aristocrats. This hard-to-find woodland plant forms clumps of cimicifuga-like foliage topped with nodding, waxy lilac flowers in late summer. Likes a cool moist location in the garden.

Zones 4-7. 3 feet. Shade to part shade, moist rich soil.
