CAMPANULA: Campanula are an easy to grow perennial, preferring a moderately rich, well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. Good drainage will ensure a large display of their bell-shaped flowers. Keep watered in the summer and fertilize regularly. You must dead-head flowers for continuous blooming. Blooms July to September. Campanula persicifolia 'Alba' is an old-fashioned cottage garden flower of great charm. Its creeping foliage gradually forms good ground cover. From late spring to early summer the tall stems of white, wide-open bell flowers appear continuously. The charming flower spikes are good for cutting if you can bear to do without them in the garden. Planted en masse, this is an attractive variety to associate with old-fashioned roses.
