Volkswagen's Electric ID. Buzz Bus Prioritizes Space and High-Efficiency Performance
Featuring a long wheelbase, a 210 kW electric drive motor, a next-generation infotainment system and more.
Volkswagen is celebrating the long-awaited return of the VW Bus in North America, with the debut of its electric ID. Buzz model. Constructed with long wheelbase, the high-efficiency vehicle is one of the most spacious electric models on the market, with room for up to seven people and a large luggage compartment.
The VW bus left the North America market 20 years ago, but it still maintains a cult following across the continent. The ID. Buzz marks the revival of the revered model — except this time, it’s equipped with electric rear-wheel drive. With a length of 4,962 mm, the large bus features a third row of seats and up to 2,469 liters of storage. Available with a new 210 kW (286 hp) electric drive motor, the vehicle sees a higher maximum speed of 160 km.h. Notably, the ID. Buzz can reach 100 km/h in just 7.9 seconds.
Elsewhere, the new electric VW Bus features a head-up display, a next-generation infotainment system and a remote parking function via smartphone. Additionally, a 1.5 square-meter sunroof includes state-of-the-art smart glass, which can be changed from transparent to opaque with a touch slider or voice assistant.

The DNA of this symbol of freedom lives on in our ID. Buzz. It is of utmost importance to us that we can now offer the people of North America a modern, all-electric new edition with the ID. Buzz in an iconic design.”
