Met Gala 2022 had its fair share of celebs wearing some iconic pieces of clothing or accessories important in history. Kim Kardashian made heads turn as she wore Marilyn Monroe's iconic dress in which she sang Happy Birthday to President John F. Kennedy in 1962. Kardashian flak from netizens, however, this time around netizens are pissed at Youtuber Emma Chamberlain and are calling her even worse than Kim.
Youtuber Emma Chamberlain was seen wearing a long lost piece of iconic jewellery that was owned by Maharaja of Patiala Bhupinder Singh. Chamberlain was signed by Cartier as its brand ambassador and wore the choker that has seen its fair share of controversy. The choker was a piece of an entire necklace collection that was known as The Patiala Necklace which was created by Cartier S.A. in 1928 for Bhupinder Singh of Patiala, who was the Maharaja of the princely state of Patiala. The necklace reportedly contained 2,930 diamonds, including as its centrepiece the world's seventh-largest diamond at the time, the "De Beers".

The necklace was lost from the royal Treasury of Patiala around 1948 after the takeover of the British in India. In 1998, part of the necklace was found at a second-hand jewellery shop in London and since then Cartier has tried to restore the necklace by replacing the missing diamonds and stone with replicas.
As Emma Chamberlain's picture from the Met Gala made their rounds on the internet, netizens claimed that Chamberlain wearing such an important piece of jewellery was even more disrespectful than Kim Kardashian wearing Marilyn Monroe’s dress. See reactions here.
