Catalog text

Knut Rose is central to Norwegian visual art. He has been a festival exhibitor, a Norwegian participant at

the Venice Biennale and has worked for ten years as a professor at the Norwegian Academy of Fine Arts, — has earned honors in a row.

Many words have followed the exhibitions as they often do, articles, criticisms and interviews. "Is it sunset on civilization?" It is asked more than ten sages can paint, and we understand the professor in the back building who does not like interviews, profundities and big words.

There are no answers, only pictures. He is a painter who has poked his head above the clouds and found that the sky is not blue. — The last ten years have been an incredibly rich period in Rose's art. Kunstnernes Hus wanted to provide a broad selection from these years. When we now lay out the runner and welcome the public to the skylight halls, we also take the opportunity to thank public and private collectors who have been accommodating with loans. — A special thank you to Arnhild Rose and Ørnulf Opdahl who have put in a lot of work so that the exhibition could be carried out in the best way.
