This, one of the most beautiful of all New Zealand grasses, makes a grand garden subject. It makes an evergreen fountain of arching dark green leaves. During spring it produces arching flower feathers, silky light green aging to creamy beige. The flowers are still beautiful in late autumn. It tolerates drought well needing just a little supplementary watering. 120cm tall by 100cm wide. Chionochloa is an RHS Award Of Garden Merit plant the highest award for garden worthy plants.
