Description

Dutch Large Flowering Crocuses otherwise known as The Wild Crocus of the Alps are the art and soul of spring. This extremely vigorous, long-lasting, bee-loved cultivar is great for naturalizing, as it will multiply and come back year after year. This Large Crocus mix will bloom about two weeks later than Species or Botanical Crocus, and date back to 1875. These Large Flowering crocus bulbs are a most welcomed harbinger of spring in their 6 petaled rich buttercup-yellow, lavender-violet, glistening white and shimmering pale silver-lilac flower colors that are not only beautiful, but also quite hardy and drought tolerant. This graceful harbinger stands 5" tall, flowers open and close on sunny days and the larger corms have reticulated tunics. They naturalize by corm offsets. Crocuses open on sunny days and close at night or on cloudy days. Stunning in beds, lawns, under trees, in front of shrubs, or along walkways. Plant in groupings of 3 bulbs or more for best effect. If used in lawns, grass should not be mowed for 6 weeks after the crocuses have bloomed in order to give the bulbs time to store up energy for next year's bloom. Also great for forcing! Crocus bulbs are also excellent attractors of beneficial bees, butterflies, and birds. Deer resistant. April 5” 10 bulbs per bag
