Ancient province of the Terra di Lavoro of the Kingdom of Naples, today we go to the discovery of Roccasecca. On the heights of Monte Asprano, at the entrance to two gorges that give access to the Comino Valley and dominates the Liri Valley, let's go to the discovery of this charming town. Let's start with the ancient Castle of the Counts of Aquino, built over the fortress of the village. Behind the ruins of the Castle, we meet the Church of Santa Croce, where St. Thomas was born. We then meet the Lookout Tower, nicknamed 'Cannone'. We enter the heart of the village where we admire one of the symbols of Roccasecca, the house of San Tommaso d'Aquino. It is a noble building with two mullioned windows that give a stylistic-architectural image to the village. We then continue towards the Church of San Tommaso, the first church in the world built in honor of the saint, and the statue, also representing the saint and in his honor. Still, inside the historic center we visit the Churches of SS Annunziata and Santa Maria Assunta. We then admire the Church of Santa Margherita and the parish church of the Madonna delle Grazie, the convent of San Francesco, the Church of San Vito al Melfa and the rock church of San Michele Arcangelo. We conclude our visit with the Hermitage of the Holy Spirit and the Grotta di San Michele.
