A little museum in an authentic barrack from Grini prison camp

  • 1/1
Outdoor exhibition and the barrack. The barrack was moved from the prison camp after the war. It was restored here in 2015, and is now part of Grini Museum.

Grini Museum is part of the Museums in Akershus - MiA. The museum aims to convey the significance of the prison camp in Norwegian war, and social history (1940-1945), and how the political and human conditions in the camp have relevance even today.
Today, the museum can be found in an authentic prison barrack just ouside the original location of Grini prison camp.

The museum’s exhibits are based on the prisoners’ own recollections of events at Grini and tell the story of the camp through film clips, photographs, audio recordings, artefacts and digital technology.
