Unlike the normal Snow in Summer groundcover this is a slower growing alpine plant that forms a a cushion of fuzzy silver -grey leaves. Flowers with the arrival of Gentian and other late spring plants. Best grown in the rock garden, in a gravel scree or alpine trough garden. Tolerates drought and poor sandy soils, once established. Divide every two to three years in spring or early autumn. Mulching around the plant with pea gravel will help to prevent rotting in wet winter areas. It is a gem for the rock garden and well worth the effort. Consider it as a flowering dwarf wooly thyme.
Large selection of deciduous trees, groundcover, rockery plants and perennials. Open SATURDAY 9AM to 4PM at 1080 W. Hendrickson Rd. Sequim. I am available most other days by appointment.
