It was a night of mixed emotions in North London last night. Arsenal took an early lead through Bukayo Saka's excellent curling shot but then two quick counter-attacks from Bayern Munich saw them assert dominance before the first-half whistle, with goals from Serge Gnabry and Harry Kane (sound familiar?)

In the end, a fair result was met. It was obviously frustrating for Arsenal considering they took an early lead and they were denied a late penalty. However, Bayern can also have their frustrations so it will make for an interesting affair in Munch.

But how did the individuals fare? Well, let's take a look at Arsenal's best and worst players, from our player ratings...

Arsenal’s best players in dramatic Bayern Munich draw

Three players were tied for the top spot and unsurprisingly, they were all attackers...

Bukayo Saka - 7/10. The starboy got Arsenal off to the best start as he scored the early goal. Throughout the match, he showed plenty of tenacity and confidence to take on Alphonso Davies, getting the better of him at key moments.

Saka will feel hard-done-by to not get the final penalty. Look, it's contentious for sure. Overall, I don't think it was a penalty but I've seen weaker challenges given. Regardless, Saka should have taken on the shot, THAT would have been in his control.

Overall, though, Saka can have little regrets from this match. The world-class attacker stepped up when it mattered most.

Leandro Trossard - 7/10. Scored the goal to draw the game level, as he so often does when coming off the bench. It wasn't to be for Gabriel Martinelli, so this was a great substitution from Mikel Arteta.

Trossard brought electricity to the game and he was efficient when it mattered most. What a signing he was, honestly.

Gabriel Jesus - 7/10. Gabriel Jesus should've probably started the game but when he came on, the whole atmosphere changed. He set up Trossard for the equalising goal and he had a few moments of skill in the box which is what the game required. A great cameo, all things considered.

Arsenal's worst player

None of the defenders covered themselves in glory, except from maybe Ben White. However, one defender stuck out like a sore thumb...

Jakub Kiwior - 4/10. Understandably, Jakub Kiwior was discared from the match at half-time and Arsenal looked like the better team with him off the pitch. The Pole could not keep up with the pace of the match as there were a few occasions when Leroy Sane got the better of him.

Look, Kiwior is still new to this level. He is bound to have shaky moments like this and it takes nothing away from his stature. Hopefully, he returns back to his best in the Premier League this weekend.
