SIZE:
Matthew has excellent size for a 2027 QB at 6’3” 187 lbs. If I were putting a team together, this is the QB I would take. He's not flashy but has everything you would want for a QB. Size, mobility, arm strength and intelligence. His potential is through the roof, if he continues to receive quality training.
ACCURACY:
His throws reach his receivers with good ball placement, accuracy and timing. Whether his passes are made at short or long range, Matthew remains throwing motion remains consistent.
ARM STRENGTH:
A strong armed QB who can fire it in on a rope or lay it out on a fly route. His vertical passing game can’t go unnoticed by defenses. He can reach well beyond coverage.
RELEASE:
He delivers the ball from over the top and a fully extended arm motion. Giving his throws added height. His arm motion is fluid and consistent.
THROW ON RUN:
For a QB of his size, Matthew is super athletic. Very good mobility as he works his way to the outisde of the pocket. Getting his feet in front of him and in-line with his primary target.
FOOTWORK:
Very good speed and quickness into the secondary with the ability to evade would-be tacklers. He’s very dangerous because of his ability to serve as a legit dual threat while on the go. Well balanced stride on his dropbacks and set ups.
POISE:
His confidence level is way up there. He believes in abilities and feels comfortable within the pocket.
POCKET PRESENCE:
Very difficult to contain within the pocket with good agility and mobility. Able to step up in the pocket or roll out for added space.
DECISION MAKING:
He understands the game, working methodically as he tears up a defense.
TOUCH:
I was very impressed in his ability to adjust the velocity of his throws. From fade routes to his laser strikes over the middle.
