Summary
A special Prussian military decoration instituted by King Friederich Wilhelm III during the campaign against Napoleon, the Iron Cross was awarded for valor in the field and worn by honored soldiers with great pride. On Card 132 a gigantic Iron Cross is held up by veterans of three wars: 1813, 1870, and 1914.
