With its wonderful textures and colors, the Sempervivum is a very interesting succulent plant, thanks to its drought tolerance and ease to grow. This plant is also known as 'hens and chicks' as the 'mother' plant will produce many 'babies'. They're perfect for edging, containers and rock gardens!

I am unsure of the exact cultivar of this variety. It could either be "Desert Bloom" or "Purple Mojo" or even "Purple Parfait."

You will receive the exact succulent as pictured here. Succulents make great gifts for amateur, casual gardeners as well as green thumbs!

Echeveria is a plant genus of about 150 species of ornamental garden plants in the stonecrop family (Crassulaceae). They are typically rose-shaped with broad fleshy leaves with waxy, velvety, or powdery surfaces and are often iridescent, sometimes red-edged when exposed to sunlight. Echeverias are popular among collectors for their compact symmetrical leaf rosettes, prominent stalked inflorescence (flower cluster), and variety of colors and sizes.

Although they are fairly drought tolerant, they will become more spectacular with regular deep watering and light fertilizing. The hybrids and variegated versions tend to be less tolerant of frost and shade.

Plant your bare-rooted succulent immediately into slightly moist, well-draining soil and place it in an area that doesn't get direct sunlight. Wait about a week before you water it. Gradually increase the light levels until it has adjusted to its new home.
