Nectaroscordum siculum is available to purchase now for delivery in October

This bulbous perennial will produce flowers reaching up to 1.2m in height and are adored by bees as the common name may tell you.

  • Nectaroscordum siculum is quite a structural, elegant grower.
  • It’s flowers bloom as pendant umbels of green and white flushed with pink/purple and red.
  • It’s a see-through plant, meaning that you can see through and past it as the stems are tall and narrow and works well in the wildest of spaces or just as much at home in amongst the most preened topiary specimens, it’s light and airy texture working as a perfect foil to the dense and heavy Taxus, or Buxus.

Plant Sicilian Honey Garlic bulbs from October to January and you will delight in it’s flowers, blooming early next summer.

  • Each flowering stem can reach up to 1.2 metre in height a
  • Don't be in a mad rush to remove stems once the flowers are gone. I love the seed heads too and the structure the spent flower stems bring to a bed even when the colour has long gone.
  • The dried blooms can be used in dried flower arrangements
  • They come from a supplier whose Alliums I have been planting in gardens for over 10 years and each year the quality is superb.
  • Plant 15cm deep and 10cm or more apart
  • Stagger the planting over a few weeks in the autumn and winter if you want to and this will result in the blooms opening up over a longer period in the spring
  • Size of Bulb 8cm and larger
