only plurilocular organs known with certainty for this taxon. In Greenland, these plants recycle themselves directly in culture. Unilocular organs are uncertain, since Setchell and Gardner 1922c and Rosenvinge 1893 refer to them as "aecidia" which were not seen to bear zoospores. Abbott and Hollenberg 1976 refer to them as "unangia?", and Pedersen 1981 refers to them as "ascocysts" (Pedersen 1981)
