Red wolf (Canis rufus) in the rain forest of the islands off the coast of British Columbia

There remains an isolated population of Red wolves in the rain forests of the islands off the coast of British Columbia, where it is estimated there are approximately about 500 still remaining.  Where their territories overlapped, some hybridization with Greys occurred.
