Poppy - Papaver Paeoniflorum - Red Peony Poppy. Common name: peony poppy. Doubled crimson red flower is a dramatic fast growing self-sowing summer bloomer, brought to the US from England in early 1850, the double blooms are large and brilliant red crinkled petals that bring padazzle to wherever it's placed. Once the pedals fade and fall, what's left is a seed pod that keeps the beauty going. It doesn’t lose shape or color when dried and is used for floral arrangements, bouquets and crafts. The seeds can also be stored for the following season or started indoors during the winter. Anywhere they are planted will be beautiful and are most commonly seen in gardens, borders, beds, fences, walkways, and driveways. The seeds are edible and used in soups, while the oil pressed from the seeds is used in pharmaceuticals and soaps. Don’t ingest the seeds
raw. They will cause stomach distress. This poppy is in the family of opium poppies.

I urge anyone buying seed to do their homework on germination, I have not raised and cannot raise many of these plants as I am sub-tropics here in St Augustine, Florida. All seed are NOT alike!  There are so many different factors in germination and not doing a search is throwing your money away. I want everyone to be successful when growing your flowers from seed it is the most rewarding experience in Gardening and you can do it, if you give the seed what it needs to grow. I always check 3 sites of info to choose how I will go about it. It is not hard to do, if you do it right!
