Poppy - Papaver Paeoniflorum - Salmon Peony Poppy. These dazzling double petaled fringed flowers grow on a sturdy erect stem, displaying large salmon-colored blooms. Commonly used in flowers beds, borders, gardens, driveways, walkways, fences and cut flowers. Outdoors the petals can be seen sparkling in the sunlight. They thrive best in 70-degree climates and don’t care for hot summer temperatures. Sandy moist soil is preferred, being careful not to overwater them. When the flowers fade and fall what's left is a very unique and attractive seed pod that will retain its shape and color when dried. For this reason, it has been called “everlasting” in days past. The pods, when dried completely, are widely used in assortments and bouquets. If it is not desired to be used for crafting the pods will release the seeds into the ground for the following season. They are also known as Opium poppies.

I urge anyone buying seed to do their homework on germination, I have not raised and cannot raise many of these plants as I am sub-tropics here in St Augustine, Florida. All seed are NOT alike! There are so many different factors in germination and not doing a search is throwing your money away. I want everyone to be successful when growing your flowers from seed it is the most rewarding experience in Gardening and you can do it, if you give the seed what it needs to grow. I always check 3 sites of info to choose how I will go about it. It is not hard to do, if you do it right!
