STETIND

Normal Route - East Ridge
Climbing Stetind is an experience of a lifetime. The mountain is considered one of the 3 major climbs in Norwegian mountaineering history. The other two are Store Skagastølstind and Romsdalshorn.

The trip starts at sea level where the path winds its way up through the idyllic birch forest. Across the forest border we get to see Stetind tower over us again. We stop at Svartvannet for a little rest. From here it will be steeper scrambling up to the false summit. There we put on our harness and tie ourselves into the ropes. This is where the real adventure begins. We follow the airy ridge, balancing over the church roof before we meet the ten embittered fingertip-traverse. This is the hardest part of the trip where you literally dangle 1000 meters above the ground. We take our time and prepare for you so that this passage goes well. From the top, the view is fantastic, with the Lofoten mountains on the horizon and the glaciers in the Narvik mountains in the back.

Joins us an climb the most scenic mountain in Norway. Stetind is a "once in a lifetime" experience. Aim to make the experience perfect by choosing our guides for the trip.

"... the mountain is mighty and we became small. Luxury with only the two of us in the group and guide Stian.  Safe and always present guidance made it a phenomenal experience, and the fingertips and other challenges were forced. A hefty experience that is recommended "

The South Pillar
The super classic that offers fantastic climbing in magnificent surroundings. You are guaranteed to have an amazing day!

The south pillar at Stetind is one of the most beautiful climbing routes in Norway. 12 pitches with beautiful climbing in dramatic nature. This in the footsteps of first ascensionist and philosopher Arne Næss.

The most difficult part involves climbing grade N6. The climb takes you through mythical passages and beautiful shelves such as Kongelosjen and the 2nd Amphitheater, which by the way is a great lunch shelf.

We start the trip in the same place as for the normal route, but take a separate path by Svartvannet. The descent follows the normal path down.

You should have climbed a lot to join this trip. In addition, you should be comfortable with some exposure.

"Stetind is a fabulous creation. The mountain comes straight up out of the sea, gets steeper and steeper in an absolutely beautiful way. Stetind is delicious granite, hard, good stone to hold in. It is as if the mountain is on your side."

- Arne Næss, first ascent -
