Carl Nesjar was a Norwegian painter, sculptor and graphic artist. He is best known for his ‘Fontaine de Glace’ series that can be found in towns all over the world.
Éric et Sylvie Boissonnas commissioned this work. It was the first outdoor work of art in Flaine and marked the entrance to the resort. In winter, Nesjar’s metal structure becomes covered in white translucent stalactites.
