Product information

Introducing the radiant Cornus sericea 'Flaviramea,' also known as Golden Twig Dogwood. This hardy shrub is your winter garden's shining star, boasting captivating thickets of bright yellow and green stems that effortlessly illuminate your landscape when most plants have retired their colours. 'Flaviramea' is a low-maintenance wonder, demanding minimal care once established, making it the perfect choice for busy garden enthusiasts. Spring graces your garden with delicate clusters of white flowers, which later transform into striking white berries, adding a touch of elegance. As autumn arrives, the light green leaves evolve into enchanting shades of red and gold, concluding the year in breathtaking style. This versatile dogwood is ideal for hedges, cottage gardens, wildlife-friendly spaces, or as a striking woodland garden feature.

    • Borders
    • Average garden soil
    • Flowering period - May - June
    • Water dogwood plants regularly throughout the growing season until fully established. After two years, Cornus will benefit from regular pollarding to encourage the brightest winter stems. Prune Cornus hard in early spring by cutting back all stems to within 3 buds of the base or to a permanent low framework. Apply a mulch of well-rotted manure or garden compost to the base of dogwood shrubs in spring.
    • Caution: Dogwood berries are harmful if eaten and the leaves may be irritant to skin and eyes. Plant Cornus in a sunny position, in any well drained soil. Incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to improve the soil prior to planting, mixing it thoroughly and deeply. Cornus will happily grow in improved clay soils.
