This iPod mini was professionally refurbished by the seller. The battery and storage capacity were upgraded. The iPod was reset to factory setting. Storage capacity increased to 16 gigabytes. The new battery will hold a charge for over 8 hours. It is very easy and simple to use. I plug in a pair of low tech panasonic rp-sp15 mini speakers. Yes, I held on to these after my walkman portable cd player was consigned to the recycling bin! This iPod mini is perfect for my old speakers!

Using this iPod mini is such a blast from the past. It's been great rediscovering all of the music that I've downloaded over the years. I just wish that the battery lasted longer. I can get maybe four hours out of it, and then it has to recharge. Also, I can ONLY recharge it when it's connected to a computer. It will not charge through a wall charger. :(

The Apple Ipod Mini which comes in both 4gb and 6gb is a good value and an alternative "old School" to the newer Ipod Nano line. Recently, Circuit City has listed refurbished Minis for sale on their website. They are generally available - many more 4gb are available than 6gb. Some pro's and cons: Pros - good value to save music and use in places such as your car metal housing is solid and somewhat forgiving with drops* 6gb model is a great alternative for those who need more storage space than just the 4gb Easy to replace a battery or even hard drive. Cons - The hard drives have a limited lifetime unlike the newer Ipod Nano which uses a flash drive and has no moving parts. *while the metal housing protects the ipod, the mini using a hard drive can skip and also can be damaged in falls of just over a couple of feet. All in all, I would recommend using the Mini in your home, car, etc. somewhere where it is not moved a lot and would have less of a chance to be dropped. The 6gb is a great value alternative to a more costly 8gb Nano. If you are working out, it can be bulky and a drop may hurt the hard drive. Hope this helps.Read full review
I have had a good experience with the Ipod Mini. It is my first Ipod and is doing fine. It's easy to use, carry, and listen to. Holds about 1,000 songs- more songs than you can come up with. The battery could be improved- and in the more recent models has been. In this Generation it should last about 8 hours, it doesn't quite last that long, but I bought mine used. Could just need a replacment. In all it was a great buy for me and I won't be looking for another for a while.
I bought this thing because, quite simply, my car had a plug in for it lol. I bought the green because, you guessed it, my cars green. I love the ease of use with this thing, it is so easy to find the song I am looking for, and the games (while simple) are suprisingly addicting. My only design flaw is the size and heft of it--its a bulky little thing (yes, I know, its the first generation and all the ones after it got smaller and smaller). I chose the bulky first generation because I have no plans to ever carry it around; it will forever stay plugged into my console (except when I bring it in to refresh the song list), but if i had the desire to use it like it was intended i think the size would deter that. Overall--it was cheap cheap, and it works great and I love it so much, I actually bought two so I could have a backup!Read full review
