Took this off a friend whom wanted a better machine and I have been using the Vienna since 2005 and it now sits in my office to the great envy of all around. My friend has asked several times if he could have it back... sorry mate. What i Like: The simplicity of components, making cleaning and maintenance easy. The taste of the espresso once i have regulated the grind size to my preferred setting. I can easily change size of espresso by turning 1 knob rather than having to program the machine. i love that i can pre-warm my cup using the steam nozzle to deliver hot water. I love the minimal approach to the machine controls; 1 power button, 1 espresso make-it-now-button, 1 button to charge up steam for milk frothing, 1 knob to deliver steam or hot water (depending if you have pressed the steam button). simples Dislikes: I will let you know if i find some. Love the machine, reliable and easy to use. does what it says it will - make you espresso (or long drawn out coffees if you are in to that sort of thing.) P.s. I also make sure i clean it properly after every 500g of coffee. you reap what you sowRead full review
I am a coffee drinker, but not regular coffee I love to have at least 2-3 espressos a day and I know for a fact that saeco makes good Espresso-Machine. Mine is working very good it makes a nice and creamy espresso but the secret is in how fine you grind the coffee. I spent couple days figuring out what kind of coffee and how fine to grind it before I got the perfect espresso. I'm very happy with this saeco espresso machine.
This coffee maker makes a pretty good cup of Expresso, but very difficult to switch from regular to decaff because the machine grinds the beans, tamps the grind, which I love, brews the coffee and then dumps the grinds. Also very difficult to empty left over beans if you want to change types of coffees. If you lift off the bean hopper, all the left over beans fall down into the machine.
I bought this in the early 2000s. It gets used several times a day. I've had it repaired once due to my negligence. With regular maintenance (clean, de-scaling,washing removable parts, using softened water, etc.) this machine works flawlessly. I do not believe it is manufactured anymore and if I needed/wanted another espresso machine, I would buy this in a moment.
