Red Nora Barlow columbine plants grow double blooms that look like miniature dahlias. They make superb cut flowers growing tall stems with unique dark red wine colored flowers.
Plants grow 24-30 in tall and are winter hardy to zone 3.
Columbine flowers is one of my absolute favorite plants in my garden. The colors are stunning and they grow tall, between 2 - 3 foot tall. Low mounding "ferny" foliage, growing strong stalks topped with beautiful dark red flowers.
Nora Barlow plants are perennial and for spring blooms the 1st year, seed plants the previous fall. Overwintering promotes a healthy root system.

Columbine is quite drought resistant but do better with regular water. Its a wonderful plant to grow in an area where deer are prevalent. It likes a shade garden and does best out of full sun. It will self seed and is an amazing addition to a natural, shade wildflower garden.
