DULUTH, Minn. — The first annual Energy Design Concepts is taking place at the DECC this week.

The event formerly known as the Energy Design Conference is put on by Minnesota Power. It is for architects, contractors, homeowners and other professionals to get together and learn new things related to construction. They learn what is changing in the building industry, how to produce a cleaner energy future, and what that looks like for new homes built.

“Minnesota Power’s new construction program works with our contractors and builders in our region. Primarily so that they can understand the homes that they are building and the impacts on the technologies that they choose and how that has a long-lasting impact on not only the quality of their home but also, the energy impact cost-wise for their home,” said Crystal Pelkey, event producer through Customer Programs at Minnesota Power.

The hope for the conference is that people walk away with knowledge of the advances in technology when they consider building new construction.
