Malva moschata or Musk Mallow is a hardy, cottage garden perennial with hairy, narrow, lobed, divided leaves that have a rather musky fragrance.
It produces simple saucer shaped, five petalled flowers in rose, pink and white in spring.
Musk Mallows are a very good border plant, being low growing and the gentle shades of pink go so well in mixed borders. Just don't mix it with vibrant oranges and yellows to drown out its simple delicacy.
They attract nectar feeding birds and bees to your garden.
