Start the day early from the Melbourne CBD and settle in. Go inland for the morning, which is going to bring you out on the Shipwreck Coast before the rest of the tour buses. Here is where you will find the infamous 12 Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge, and Gibson Steps. Take in these world-renowned sites without being caught in the hustle and bustle of the masses. Getting to the 12 Apostles in the morning provides additional colors in the large limestone stacks not seen in the afternoon. Hear the story of Loch Ard and step down into the gorge that has been carved away by the Southern Ocean over hundreds of years, arguably more stunning than the Apostles themselves. Enjoy a picnic lunch at one of these breathtaking spots. After taking in this spectacular coastline, drive back along the Great Ocean Road. Wave at all the other buses as they all pass by in the opposite direction as the road begins to run away from the coastline through the Otway ranges. It is now time to stretch your legs on a magical guided rainforest walk amongst some of the tallest tree species in the world. Next, a short drive sees the road and ocean meet once again in the seaside town of Apollo Bay. For the rest of the journey, the road will twist along the coast, offering spectacular ocean, beach, and cliff views. Along this beautiful section of the Great Ocean Road, you’ll stop at the small town of Kennett River where your guide will help you spot wild koalas in their natural habitat amongst the eucalyptus trees. Pass through small seaside towns as you continue and make a stop at Memorial Arch, also known as The Great Ocean Road sign, commemorating the workers that built the road. From here, we sit back, relax and enjoy the drive back into the dynamic and cosmopolitan city of Melbourne

Check out the Twelve Apostles' limestone stacks, visit Loch Ard Gorge and learn about its tragic history. Experience Apollo Bay, the rainforest and see some koalas, kangaroos and birds along the way. The only goal is to have an amazing day full of spectacular sights and some laughs, too on this guided group tour for 18-35 year olds. Begin your tour with a convenient pickup run from selected Melbourne accommodation, before you head out of the city to the furthest part of the Great Ocean Road. Your first scenic stop will be at the Twelve Apostles, where you'll get to experience the boardwalk and viewing platforms and get your first glimpse of the natural limestone rock stacks and cliffs. Next, head onto the beach in front of the first Apostles at Gibson Steps, where you can spend some time taking in their size and beauty. Then, it’s a short drive from the Twelve Apostles to the beautiful Loch Ard Gorge, where you will walk on the famous 'shipwreck beach.' While here, check out more magnificent limestone formations, like the Razorback, Three Sisters and the Salt and Pepper Shaker. Afterwards, it's off to the Great Otway National Park, which stretches or over 1000sq km. Here, find adorable koalas in their natural habitat and grab some photos, before arriving in Apollo Bay for some free time and lunch. While in Apollo Bay, feel free to grab some food at any of the different cafés, restaurants and bakeries, or even head to the Gin distillery or pub for a well-earned drink. Spend the afternoon driving and stopping along the scenic drive between Apollo Bay and Anglesea at places like Cape Pattern Lookout, Kennet River, Lorne and The Memorial Arch. And then onward to spot some kangaroos grazing in the fields.

Start your tour by heading to the meeting point to pick up your equipment. Your instructor will select the correct size wetsuit for you to change into, and will help you to find just the right size surfboard.  Once you are ready, walk to the beach with the rest of the group. Your lesson will begin on the beach with a safety briefing and some basic instructions before you head into the water, waist deep, to catch some waves.  Once you have had your fill of the surf, you will return to the beach for some more detailed instruction about how to stand up on your surfboard. The remainder of the lesson will be spent on the water with the instructor helping everyone to stand up. At the end of the lesson, return to the shop with your equipment to have a hot shower and change. Make sure you arrange to take some photos.
