Zach Braff and Donald Faison are talking about the Scrubs season three finale, “My Best Friend’s Wedding,” on this episode of Fake Doctors, Real Friends. But before they get into that, Donald asks if Zach has seen WandaVision yet. Zach has already seen the entire series, he reveals, making Donald very jealous. “I’m in every guild and union there is, and my girlfriend [Florence Pugh] is in a Marvel movie. So we get a lot of stuff,” Zach shrugs. “Well I’m in a closet!” Donald yells. Then Judy Reyes, who played Carla on Scrubs, joins them to relive “the Turkletons’” wedding day, the Janitor stealing silverware, and Scott Foley’s surprise beard – but also drop details about her 11-year-old daughter, the similarities between puberty and menopause, her bedtime edibles, and her amazing sex life.

One of the ongoing themes of the episode, and a constant TV trope in general, is that women stop wanting to have sex after marriage. Zach asks if that’s really true; Donald says yes right away, prompting several follow-up questions, while Judy replies, “Let me tell you, I’m f**king like crazy.” (“Thunderous applause,” Zach replies.) She talks about having a kid late in life and how they sometimes annoy each other so much because her daughter is starting to go through puberty, while Judy is starting to go through menopause: “Menopause is puberty at 53!” Judy says. “You have to go through all the changes….You try not to be your mom, and then you see why your mom was your mom.” Zach commends Carla’s patience with Turk: “He’s a good guy, but he f**ks up a lot,” he says. “He didn’t even go to the right church!”

Then Vicky Dodd calls in, wondering if they have a hard time watching TV and movies without thinking about all the details and work that goes into them. Can they just enjoy their entertainment? she asks. Judy and Donald both say that it's easier to get distracted if the show is bad, but if there’s a good story going on, they can always get lost. Zach isn’t so sure; even when he’s really into something, he’s wondering about the composer of the score or admiring the camera movement. But it doesn’t make it any less entertaining, he says. Plus: Donald is proud of his body in this episode, even though people were hating on him at the time; Judy and Zach kept some of their costume pieces and still wear them today; and Judy wonders why anyone would “let Elliott wax.” Hear the entire hilarious conversation on this episode of Fake Doctors, Real Friends.
