A flat red that often grows epiphytically on large kelp stalks. Bits found like this are not easy to identify but when there are perfect leaflet edge-proliferations ID can be assured.
Unfortunately there are quite a few very similar small flat reds but these edge-bits are the giveaway.
Wing weed is easier, there being elongated flat wings along the stems. Clearly Ptilota gunneri speaks for itself!
Pictures 4 and 5 may show decaying reproductive features.
