Known simply as Laver (sometimes Purple Laver), this is a thin, slimy and difficult to photograph alga.
I do feel this is almost certainly Porphyra umbilicalis - rich brown to reddish yet very nearly transparent.
It dies well and crumbles into soups or fish dishes. But this is famous as Welsh LaverBread which has a few recipes but most cook it for several hours, it is lightly seasoned and flavoured, then usually eaten on toast.
Picture 7 shows some dried, crumbly samples, including Porphyra purpurea, with other seaweeds.
