I have found Irish Moss (Chondrus crispus) before and think is the lookalike False Irish Moss (Mastocarpus stellatus).

A reddish-brown scrap of stranded seaweed no bigger than my hand. Very springy and reluctant to lie flat. Tiny raised ‘warts’ cover the surface of fronds with a corresponding depression on the opposite side.

The MarLIN advises that ‘The main features separating the two species being the channelled frond and appearance of reproductive bodies on mature plants.’
