This alga was found in the intertidal zone. It is said that the thallus consists of a single cell containing numerous nuclei without partitions, but I'm not so sure if this is the case for the older branchlets. The images 6-8 show that the cytoplasm of the main axis and the branchlets is hardly or not connected, while in younger parts of the thallus it is clearly visible that the cytoplasm is connected (images 3, 8 and 9). Since branchlets are arranged in two opposite rows and not irregularly or spirally, this alga was IDed as Bryopsis plumosa.
