'Pokémon Twilight Wings' Episode 5 Shows a Different Side of Oleana

The latest episode of the animated miniseries Pokémon Twilight Wings has been released and focuses on Oleana, Chairman Rose's assistant.

Aptly titled, "Assistant," episode 5 delves a little bit into Oleana's story, how she met Rose, and what a typical day looks like for her. Those who played the Sword and Shield games know that we didn't learn much about Oleana in the story, but this episode gives us a new side of the villain and, dare we say, show her in a more favorable light?

The Pokemon Company

The episode begins in a lab where scientists are trying to figure out how to harness the Dynamax phenomenon that occurs in the Galar region. Dynamax occurs when Dynamax energy fills an area, allowing for Pokémon to grow much larger in size.

While scientist after scientist seemingly give up, a young Oleana and her Trubbish are seen typing away on the computer. Chairman Rose enters the lab and looks at Oleana's findings and finds it to be brilliant and asks for her name.

We fast forward to the present where Oleana has become the vice president of Rose's company. She tells everyone in the company that Rose won't be in the office today--as is usually the case with the Chairman, who loves to get out and mingle with the people of Galar--and that she expects everyone to do their best with their duties.

A montage plays as Oleana is pulled by one person after another to fix problems that they are having--whether it's paperwork, giving presentations on Pokémon, talking to the officials of the Pokémon League, fixing a Rotom stuck in the computers, and much more.

Finally, after a long day, Oleana takes to the streets when she's approached by Chairman Rose who is heading back to the office and asks if she wants a lift. She goes with him and brings up the amount of work needed to be done at the office. Oleana says everything is taken care of, which leads to Rose saying that she can run the company on her own without him.

Oleana hands Rose the letter the boy from the first episode gave him to give to Pokémon Champion Leon and says he has work only he can do. Rose laughs and says he's grateful to have her.

A shot of Gigantamax Coalossal and Lapras are seen battling in the stadium when the Corviknight Taxi driver says how he loves to see Dynamax Pokémon battle. Oleana is quick to correct him and state that those are Gigantamax Pokémon and explains the difference. Although the driver says that he gets it, Oleana is determined to get it all out because she had a hard day.

The next episode will spotlight Allister, the Ghost-type Pokémon trainer, and with just two more episodes to go
