There are nearly 2,000 species of grass-like sedges. The species we grow are either highly ornamental or valuable to native landscapes.

Palm sedge can be found growing in woods and wet-meadows in north-central North America. It forms clumps of bright green leaves and makes a perfect ground cover, especially in a moist garden. Coppery fall color is nice. Spring flowers are relatively inconspicuous, but seeds are a major food source for many bird species.
