Description
Odontoglossum nobile is an orchid native to the mountains of Colombia, where it enjoys cool, humid conditions. It has been known to orchid collectors since its discovery in the mid-1800s, an era when orchid hunters scoured the planet for new and interesting species.
Odontoglossum nobile certainly did not disappoint the appetites of European collectors, and has been used in a good deal of breeding since it was introduced to cultivation. It produces white flowers that may have a touch of pink, with some varieties having spots as well. These flowers are fragrant, with a fragrance reminscent of jasmine!
Growing is easy – give it bright shady conditions (avoid direct sun), water twice a week, fertilize every other week.
