What clematis would you recommend for Reine des Violettes?

Reines des Violettes has such a striking color, what color clematis do you think would complement it? Also, RdV doesn't get huge so I don't want it to be consumed by the clematis. I like type 3s but they may be too big for this rose. They will be on a 6' pyramid backed by a fence. Any ideas?
