Physocarpus opulifolius 'Diabolo (PBR)' - ninebark

Position: full sun or partial shade

Soil: preferably acid, fertile, moist but well-drained soil

Flowering period: June

Hardiness: fully hardy Dainty, pink-tinted white flowers in June and small, dark purple, maple-like leaves. This wonderful ninebark is perfect for a shrub border with moist but well-drained acid soil.

Garden care: Once established, cut back up to one in four of the oldest stems to their base, after flowering. Then, apply a generous 5-7cm (2-3in) mulch of well-rotted garden compost around the base of the plant.
