Description
This holds a pair of glossy, bright green leaves almost at ground level below a good-sized chocolate bell. This is often polished, but is also dusted with some grape-like ‘bloom’ and in addition it has a thin yellow edge and sometimes a hint of yellow at the tips.
A narrow endemic found only on the Mani peninsular of Southern Greece but remarkably easy in the garden in almost any well-drained, fertile soil in sun, or in a pot. Standard Fritillaria treatment in fact.
