Description

Green flowers heavily tessellated in deep brown to such an extent that they look, from a distance, to be a solid, unbroken, lustrous brown only becoming obviously tessellated (and strongly so) when you are close up.

This is distinguished from the related F. nigra by its scent, size and linear shining leaves. An excellent garden plant, tolerant of summer water and easily grown outside in a well-drained site, preferably enriched with some humus matter .

A larger form than AH.9119 (offered separately)  usually with 2, or exceptionally 3, flowers per stem, depending on vigour. These are less conspicuously tessellated than many forms in cultivation  and thus appear darker.  Additionally, this form does not make stolons, just offsets.
