Kelly Osbourne is far from the first celebrity to legally change her baby’s name. But her reason why may just break your heart!
In a recent appearance on her family’s The Osbournes podcast, the daughter of Ozzy Osbourne and Sharon Osbourne shared that she is changing her son Sidney’s name after a huge disagreement about it with her partner Sid Wilson.
‘Biggest Fight’
“This is personal, and I didn’t expect to ever talk about this, but I’m going to,” the 39-year-old said on the podcast, per Page Six. “It’s the biggest fight me and my baby’s father have ever, ever, ever had, and probably ever, ever will.”

The fight was all about their 15-month-old’s last name. “I wanted our son to have both of our last names, and he wouldn’t let me. We had a huge fight,” Osbourne revealed. “I feel that I was forced into doing something I didn’t wanna do and I can never ever, ever forgive him for that, but we can move on.”
How incredibly sad — and infuriating! Why wouldn’t Wilson “let” Osbourne give her son that iconic last name? It’s 2024, and this fight shouldn’t have ever happened.
Luckily, the actress and model didn’t give up trying. “So right now my son doesn’t have a double-barreled last name, but after lots of eye-opening conversations and some couples therapy, he has seen the light,” she continued, per Page Six. “We are going to legally change our son’s name to have both of our last names.”

She summed up the situation perfectly: “We both made our child, so he should have both of our last names.” Period!
Mom Life
Osbourne and Wilson started announced their relationship in Jan. 2022, just 10 months before welcoming their son. In Sept. 2023, she shared how she has “fully embraced mom life” on an episode of The Osbournes. “I love everything to do with it. I just love being a mom,” she said. “I love other moms. I love talking about being a mom. It is everything to me.”
Her brother Jack Osbourne agreed, saying, “it is kind of all you want to talk about.”
“It really is,” she replied. “And the love explosion that you feel when you have your own kids. It’s the most incredible feeling in the entire world.”
“There was a point where every time I looked at him, It made me cry. And I know it’s hormonal for like, the first month of his life. I couldn’t look at him without just tearing up because I love him so much,” she added.
First Birthday
On baby Sidney’s first birthday in Nov. 2023, Osbourne shared a sweet update about her baby boy.
“This past year has been the most magical year of my life for one reason. That reason is you baby Sidney,” she wrote on Instagram. “To watch you grow, learn and become a little man is the greatest joy I have ever felt. The most magical bond I have ever experienced is the bond I feel with you.”
She continued, “Before you love was just a word that I thought I understood. NOW I truly understand what love is. I am forever indebted to you for teaching me the beauty meaning and truth of love. What more can I say other than I love you.”
And soon, baby Sidney will carry a piece of his mama with him forever with his new last name.
