Art starts by copying and Kurts art was easy to copy already as a child
His collages with little bits of paper that had fragments of memories in them.
His work paved way for many artist to come
and for me his collages grow inside of me
and have inspired me to do much larger collages then he ever did
I owe him a lot.
Thomas Dellert
Kurt Schwitters (20 June 1887 – 8 January 1948) was a German artist… who was born in Hanover, Germany.
Schwitters worked in several genres and media, including dadaism, constructivism, surrealism, poetry, sound, painting, sculpture, graphic design, typography, and what came to be known as installation art. He is most famous for his collages, called Merz Pictures.

Thomas Dellert is an internationally renowned Swedish painter and photographer who has taken part in numerous solo exhibitions throughout the United States and several European nations. His works are featured in the permanent collections of the Holocaust Memorial Museum (Washington DC), Heinz, Mercedes Benz, Absolute Vodka and the Swedish Royal Family, to name a few. Combining satirical and historical elements, Dellert mixes painting, collage and graphic art to convey both the deep darkness and shining hope of humanity.
