It’s been a minute since Netflix took us back to Stars Hollow with Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. The long-awaited miniseries hit the streaming service in 2016, nearly a full decade after Gilmore Girls concluded with its seventh and final season. And while the four-episode reunion was a perfect dose of nostalgia and charm, it left fans pretty heated about the fact that the show’s infamous “final four words” were actually a huge cliffhanger.

In case you need a refresher (but really, who could forget?), A Year in the Life ended with — spoiler alert! — Rory telling her mom Lorelai that she’s pregnant. Boom. Roll the credits. The announcement brought on an entirely new slew of questions, most notably: Who’s the father?!

Well, it turns out that Matt Czuchry — AKA Logan Huntzberger himself — knows the truth, but he’s keeping the details to himself. It’s no less than we’d expect from a Life and Death Brigade member, but still! In an interview with Us Weekly, Matt revealed that series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and executive producer Dan Palladino let him in on the secret…and gave him permission to share the deets with anyone.

“They told me who the father of the baby was, and they said, ‘Yeah, you can tell whoever you want,’” Matt recounted, adding that, despite the go-ahead, he’s never divulged the truth to anyone else. The reason? He feels like it’s not really his secret to share. “That's for them to say,” Matt explained to Us Weekly. “Ultimately this is Amy and Dan's show and it's Lauren [Graham's] show and it's Alexis [Bledel's] show. It's not mine. And so, for me, it doesn't feel like the right place to say who it may or may not be.”

As you might imagine, plenty of people have tried to get Matt to spill the beans — including his friends. But the actor seems serious in his resolve, even refusing to tell one of his best friends whom he’s known for several decades. “I've told no one who it might be,” he said.

Another reason why Matt is keeping the secret? There’s always the chance that Gilmore Girls comes back for another reunion (yes please!) and he doesn’t want to mess with anyone’s expectations. “If we do come back, they may change their minds,” the actor said of the show’s creators. “So it could become somebody else. Those are the reasons why I've never said what they told me on set.” You've gotta respect the loyalty — we have a feeling Logan would approve, too.
