Heart-shaped, rich raspberry red petals form saucer-shaped flowers with a deep velvet red centre; a real garden treasure. Flowering over a long period, Potentilla thurberi ‘Monarch’s Velvet’ is an absolute must for the rockeries and cottage garden borders alike. Height: 60cm (24"). Spread: 50cm (20").

How to Grow

Grow potentilla in any moderately fertile, well drained soil in full sun.

Feed and water regularly until young potentilla plants are fully established. Lift and divide overcrowded clumps of potentilla in autumn or spring and apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the plants.
