A 22-year-old restaurant employee was murdered in Delhi on Friday, the police stated. A conflict over money with his former employer and an alleged extramarital affair with his wife led to the murder.
The employee, Sachin Kumar worked as a waiter at a popular eatery in Connaught Place. He was stabbed to death by Hashib Khan after he coerced his wife to call Kumar home.
Khan, 31, ran a T-shirt manufacturing unit in South Delhi’s Sangam Vihar. Both, Khan and his wife Shabina Begum have been arrested, the cops said.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) Devesh Kumar Mahla stated that Kumar disappeared from Connaught Place last Sunday, prompting his family members to file a kidnapping case with the police.
His call details disclosed his final location in Sangam Vihar, leading the authorities to focus on Hashib Khan, who had previously employed Sachin at his factory.
Further investigation unveiled that Sachin had borrowed ₹2 lakh from Hashib. Upon questioning the couple, the police discovered Sachin’s alleged extramarital involvement with Shabina Begum, as per police sources.
Upon learning of the affair, Hashib coerced his wife into summoning Sachin to their home last Sunday, where he fatally stabbed him, as per police reports. They then placed the body in their car and disposed of it in a jungle area in Dasna, the police stated.
Sachin’s family was concerned and contacted the authorities when he didn’t return home late at night and his phone remained switched off.
Sachin had been employed at Khan’s Sangam Vihar factory for more than a year and had left due to a monetary dispute, according to his brother Mohit based in Aligarh. Although he had repaid one lakh, he was allegedly threatened over the phone for more money.
